Valuable to large businesses, invaluable to small and growing

No code digital designers

6 Mins

No code design has grown in popularity and become more effective in recent years, among businesses of all sizes. This article goes into no code marketing examples and the benefits of using them in your business.

It is, what it says on the tin, luckily. As we encroach more into the digital age, it is becoming easier to create digital items. The no code movement is starting to open a new realm of creative possibilities to anyone willing to learn, without having to learn not one, but several coding languages. Instead, you can use those skills in Adobe and display them on a usable, customer-responsive, high-quality screen.

Client: “that looks amazing!”

Designer: “well, thank you!”

Client: “Can we get it on our website then?!”

Designer: “errmmm, maybe, someone… could”

No code solutions are eliminating these awkward encounters.

What is a no code designer?

It is, what it says on the tin, luckily. As we encroach more into the digital age, it is becoming easier to create digital items. The no code movement is starting to open a new realm of creative possibilities to anyone willing to learn, without having to learn not one, but several coding languages. Instead, you can use those skills in Adobe and display them on a usable, customer-responsive, high-quality screen.

How they have developed

No code marketing platforms have been around for years, luckily, we have been around for years. We have grown up with these, I still remember using Moonfruit to build a basic website, Shopify to create an online store, simple email builders such as Mailchimp and Leadpages to create quick, no-hassle landing pages.

You’ve likely heard of many of the solutions, WixSquarespace, and Wordpress. However, there has been a gap for many years, that gap? No code simply couldn't achieve the feel or experience of something built from scratch. You could build something with a no code solution, no problem, but it’s not fully responsive? To top it off, there was always a way to make the changes you wanted… if you knew CSS and HTML code to make bespoke alterations.

Luckily, that is changing, and developers are finding new ways to give us a proxy skill set, Webflow for example, with a basic knowledge of the laws of code, will allow you to create a fully responsive, interactive website, in a builder not far from the Adobe layout and usability. No code is no longer, no wow factor, it has caught up.

Why they save money, creating and maintaining

Client: “Thanks for the website!”

Designer: “you’re welcome!”

Client: “We have a few alterations”

Designer: “no problem, it’s £90/hour and our coder said 4 hours.”

We have all been there. As an in-house marketeer or owner, you can push back, potentially upset the agency, but you need the changes and you don’t know code, so lump it, I guess? That is why we love no code solutions; clients can often change it themselves! Yes, sometimes it's a little more complicated or the client simply hasn’t got time and wants us to fully manage it.

It does however, allow you to get a feel for the difficulty and length of time it would take tasks. You are almost always able to find a 20-minute basics tutorial video, on their website or YouTube. No code designers are increasing the knowledge of all parties involved, and that can only achieve better results.

When creating a no code website, there are simply less resources required, with little to no development time, purely design and functionality, there is less time required as well.

They’re quick to make, and faster to update and alter. In a world where time is money, speed is everything, responsive designs, responsive campaigns; no code offers just that and saves money as a result.

No code, no agency?

Due to the above, this will be our final blog. Of course, we are joking, it means that the relationship between client and consultant should become more transparent, more honest, and more flexible. You get far more from a full-service agency than some platforms to post on and engage your customers, a great deal of effort goes into creating the content for these no code builds, no one wants a fully responsive blank landing page. As no one wants a great landing page, that can’t be found and no one to view it.

Why we are a no code agency

To say we’ve never used a bit of customer code, would be a lie. That is because every business is different, they require different functionality and different visuals, so alterations must be made.

Where is the line? Bespoke production.

Working in-house we’ve seen all manner of CMS, ERP, and CRM systems. The conclusion, there are so many off the shelf providers, and none of them offer a rigid, zero personalisation software, they can all be changed to suit the needs of your business.

Instead of ranting, we have just listed the key reasons (give us a call for more)

  • Quick implementation and a team of experienced developers from the provider
  • Open API with loads of pre-built connected partners (invaluable as rarely does one software create entire business automation, check out Zapier)
  • Always up to date (Don’t get caught in that ‘unsupported version’ nightmare)
  • Large organisation assurance of surviving and continuing service

No code marketing conclusion

No code solutions aren’t the answer to everyone’s digital problems, but they solve most of them. They offer faster lead and edit times, which can result in reduced costs, not only upfront but going forward. Most importantly are continually developing, improving, and becoming more accessible. Bridging the gap of understanding between client and agency, improving transparency, increasing trust, and leading to longer-lasting working relationships, which in turn results in longer-lasting marketing results.
